Looking for help with my automatic transmission, ever since
I got my car it has never down-shifted into 2nd or 1st gear while
slowing down and then accelerating (like between stop lights, or
turning a corner) without me manually shifting it or coming to a
complete stop, any help / suggestions on how to fix it so it will
down-shift by itself when it's supposed to is appreciated.

I don't think there's anything wrong with your transmission.
The older 727's didn't have a 3rd to 2nd gear part throtle downshift
and the 3rd to 1st part throtle downshift won't happen until you are
almost at a complete stop. (under 5 to 10 mph) It wasn't until around
69 or 71 I think that the V8's had the part throtle downshifts. I
know the 6 cylinders got it first. If you have a 3rd to 2nd or 3rd to
1st downshift (passing gear) at full throtle everything is working
normal. If you don't have passing gear at full throtle then your kick
down linkage needs adjusting.(needs to be made longer)
