| I decided to do a little research on this hinge
issue. From looking at the picture that Rehrenberg posted, it
looked like the
same hinge left and right, so I checked the numbers.
Here is something he didn't tell you:
The original part numbers were left and right ... 2583578-9 - that
supersedes numerous times over and over again and finally ends up with
the number 4796259, quantity - (2).
Then up pops up a supersedence bulletin that says:
1966-1993 - Use
4796259 to replace RT or LT side, grind off pin,
replace with 6503925 and reverse position.
I didn't think you could just flip it over and use it on the other
side, eventually the pin will drop out when it gets worn.
BTW, they are available through Chrysler but they are
pricey, $81.10
list and the pin kit is 11.35. I can get them
for 64.88 each plus 9.08 which makes a total of 149.95 for everything.
